During the shipping season (May thru October), our Facebook fans will receive notification of special promotions being offered on our web site. They will also be periodically posted on which plants are especially nice at that particular time (making these plants a better buy at that particular time).

You will find hundreds of plant nurseries on the Internet. Only a few though, might offer higher quality perennials at prices lower than ours. Along with striving to produce high quality perennials at competitive prices, we also try hard to offer many garden worthy perennials that are often difficult to find at other plant nurseries. Also offered on our web site are  lots of articles on butterfly gardening. To access them, just visit the 'Articles' page of the web site. I hope you enjoy your visit to our web site!

When frost kills the annuals, plant next summer's flower garden......Go Perennials!
Fall is a great time to plant perennials because....
~ The soil temperature is warmer in fall than it is in spring. Warm soil promotes fast, strong root growth.
~ The shorter days and cooler nights of fall reduces the severity and length of transplant shock.
~  Since many insects are going dormant for the season, fall planting reduces the risk of insect attack and plant damage.
~ Fall planting reduces the load of springtime gardening chores. Many people have more time to plant perennials in September or October than they do in May.

Rose's book, Fast Track BUTTERFLY GARDENING, published in fall of 2012, is available on Amazon.com. Order your copy soon! Or order from our 'Feeders, Books, etc.' page.

Within the pages of the book you will learn how to design and plant a nectar-rich butterfly garden, identify many of the butterflies that visit your garden, lure butterflies to your property for egg-laying, and lots more.

Book format: 8.5" X 11"; 104 pages; over 100 color photos.

If you live in one of the states we are permitted to ship plants to, and you are placing an order for plants, simply click on the book's 'Add To Cart' button on the 'Butterfly Nectar Plants page. The book will then be shipped with your plants.

Looking for a guest speaker for one of your upcoming meetings?

Rose Franklin now offers two PowerPoint slide show presentations for Pennsylvania-based garden club, school, day care, scout, and nature groups.
The presentations are available to groups of 20 to 60 participants and may be scheduled for dates between October and March.
Choose between these two presentations:

Butterflies 101: An Introduction to the anatomy, life cycle, and behaviors of common PA butterflies.

Designed for younger audiences (and adults who know little about butterflies), this educational PowerPoint presentation explains what butterflies are and describes their life cycle. It includes both slides and video clips. The presentation lasts about 60 minutes and includes a 10 minute Q&A session.

Gardening for Butterflies in Pennsylvania

Designed for adult audiences (even children over the age of 12), this fast-paced slide presentation shows participants how to quickly attract butterflies to their properties. It also pictures many of the butterflies that will likely be attracted to a residential butterfly garden.  The presentation lasts about 60 minutes and includes a 10 minute Q&A session.

Fee (per presentation):  $125.00 (on-site or off-site), plus $.50 per mile for every mile beyond 30 miles of Spring Mills, Centre County, PA (where Rose resides).

To have Rose as a guest speaker at one of your meetings, please email her at RoseFranklin@aol.com with 'Guest Speaker' in the subject line, or call her at 814-422-8968.

We do not publish a printed catalog.
Our inventory of perennials changes on a regular basis during the growing season (May thru October). The plant species we offer in May differs from what we offer in July, and what we offer in July is different from what we offer in September. Because our inventory changes from month to month, a catalog just would not work for our business. Our web site functions as our catalog.

We ship perennials from May through October and offer two ways to order:
(1) Use our on-line shopping cart  which utilizes secure PayPal payment or  (2) Print our on-line order form, fill it out, and then mail it to us, along with your payment (personal check or money order).
The nursery is not open to walk-in customers. All of our sales are via the web site.
We do not accept phone orders.
Before ordering from us, please be sure you live in a state that we are permitted to ship plants to (list posted above). Do not order from us if your state is not among the states we can ship to. If we are not permitted to ship to your state, we will not ship your order and will charge you a $3.00 service charge to cancel your order and return your payment.

Using our online shopping cart, these shipping charges will be added to your order at time of checkout:
