   Rose Franklin's Perennials, a mail order nursery, offers many perennial plants that are often difficult to find but are garden worthy and worth the search. On this page we offer several of those plants.

We ship perennials from May through October.
 Important Note: Before you order plants from our nursery, please check to see that we are able to ship to your state. We can only ship plants to 28 states in the USA.
We ARE permitted to ship plants to the following states within the USA:  Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin, and West Virginia.
State and Federal regulations prohibit us from shipping to other destinations. If you do not live in one of the states we are permitted to ship to, please do not order. We will not ship your order and will charge you a $3.00 service charge to cancel your order and return your payment.

Unless otherwise noted, the plants on this page prefer full sun.
We ship orders via USPS Priority Mail.

Arkansas Blue Star  (Amsonia hubrichtii) Arkansas Blue Star      (Amsonia hubrechtii)

Arkansas Blue Star grows 24" - 36" high and produces clusters of small dusty sky blue flowers in May and June. In autumn. the very soft, fine-textured foliage of Arkansas Blue Star turns a rich golden yellow (pictured right). Highly recommended by Rose Franklin, this is a beautiful mound-forming perennial with soft and fluffy foliage.

'Roma' Masterwort
(Astrantia major 'Roma')


'Roma' Masterwort grows 18" - 24" high and produces small pink button-shaped flowers surrounded by outer bracts. Flowers July thru August. Prefers protection from the hot afternoon sun. Grows best in rich, moist soil. Deer resistant. A hard-to-find perennial.

Blackberry Lily
(Belamcanda chinensis)

Blackberry Lily has Iris-like leaves, grows 24"-36" tall, and produces lots of small, bright orange flowers with darker speckles July thru August. After the flowers fade, seed capsules appear and then later, split open to reveal rows of jet black seeds.

Brunnera macrophylla 'Jack Frost'


Brunneras are treasured for their shad tolerance and dainty blue forget-me-not like flowers which are produced in spring. 'Jack Frost' grows 10"-15" high and has beautiful variegation. Part sun or full shade.

Calamagrostis brachytricha, Korean Feather Red Grass, perennial plant Korean Feather Reed Grass
(Calamagrostis brachytricha)

Growing 40"-48" high, Korean Feather Reed Grass is easy to grow, quite hardy, and one of the few ornamental grasses that will grow in part shade. Its showy plumes are attractive September thru November. Great in floral arrangements, used fresh or dried!

Coreopsis 'Red Satin'

'Red Satin' Coreopsis grows 15"-18" high and produces lots of small, deep red daisy-like flowers over dark green, clump-forming foliage. It blooms June thru July and will rebloom if it is cut back.

Coreopsis 'Snowberry'
(Coreopsis verticillata 'Snowberry)

Coreopsis 'Snowberry' grows 24"-28" high and generally blooms late June thru August. Its 1 1/2" creamy white flowers are splashed with an eye patch of dark red. Its foliage is dark green. Deer resistant.

Dendrathemum, Chrysanthemum 'Sheffield', perennial plant  

'Sheffield' Mum     (Dendranthema 'Sheffield')

'Sheffield' Mums grows 24" - 30" high and yield lots of pale pink daisy-like flowers from late September thru October. Easy to grow. Very hardy. 
Full sun preferred.

Gas Plant
(Dictamnus albus 'Rubra')

A favorite at our mail order nursery, Gas Plant grows to about 36" high and produces beautiful pink flower spikes in late spring. The leaves and flowers have a fragrant lemon scent. Rose Franklin's favorite perennial plant!...and as discovered by Rose, a host plant for Giant Swallowtail butterflies (the reason Gas Plant is also shown on the 'Butterfly Host Plants' page). A plant that is difficult to find but well worth the search! Deer resistant.

Echinacea 'Hot Papaya', Red Coneflower 'Hot Papaya' Coneflower      (Echinacea ''Hot Papaya' )

Echinacea 'Hot Papaya' grows 30" - 36" high and produces fully double papaya-colored flowers July thru September. Deer resistant and drought tolerant. Beautiful flowers, but they don't attract very many butterflies.  Like other Echinaceas, it is deer resistant, easy to grow, and can be used as a cut flower. Highly recommended by Rose Franklin.

Echinacea 'Raspberry Truffle' 'Raspberry Truffle' Coneflower     (Echinacea ''Raspberry Truffle' )

Growing 28"-34" high, 'Raspberry Truffle' Coneflower produces coral pink flowers July thru September. Their pom-pom centers are darker pink that the petals, and the showy dark stems highlight the unique flower color.

Echinacea 'Supreme Cantaloupe', Orange Coneflower 'Supreme Cantaloupe' Coneflower     (Echinacea ''Supreme Cantaloupe' )

Maturing at 28"-34" high and producing double flowers the color of fresh cut cantaloupe, 'Supreme Cantaloupe' Coneflower blooms July thru September. Like other Echinaceas, it is deer resistant, easy to grow, and can be used as a cut flower.  Beautiful flowers, but they don't attract very many butterflies.

'Supreme Flamingo' Coneflower     (Echinacea ''Supreme Famingo )

Maturing at 25"-30" high and producing double flowers the color of fresh cut cantaloupe, 'Supreme Flamingo' Coneflower blooms July thru September. Like other Echinaceas, it is deer resistant, easy to grow, and can be used as a cut flower.  
New and sure to be a top seller.

'Colorburst Orange' Coneflower     (Echinacea 'Colorburst Orange' )

'Colorburst Orange' Coneflower grows 28"-32" high and blooms mid July thru frost. Its double orange flowers open with centers that are dark green but then turn orange. Like other Echinaceas, it is deer resistant, easy to grow, and can be used as a cut flower.  
New and sure to be a top seller.

Fragaria 'Pink Panda', ornamental strawberry, perennial plant 'Pink Panda' Ornamental Strawberry    (Fragaria 'Pink Panda')

Maturing at just 6"-8" high, 'Pink Panda' Ornamental Strawberry blooms May thru July and sometimes produces small edible strawberries. Grows well in full sun or part shade. 'Pink Panda' spreads rapidly via runners so that it can be used as a ground cover.

Geranium pratense 'Hocus Pocus' 'Hocus Pocus' Cranesbill      (Geranium pratense 'Hocus Pocus')

''Hocus Pocus' Cranesbill grows 15"-20" high and produces an abundance of lavender-blue flowers late May thru June. Its leaves are rich purple-burgundy, and deep cut, making this plant an attractive accent even when not in bloom.

'Rozanne' Cranesbill       (Geranium 'Rozanne')

''Rozanne' Cranesbill grows 16"-20" high and produces an abundance of violet-blue flowers with distinctive white eyes from June thru August. Its flowers appear above mounds of deep green foliage that spread 24"-30" wide. Easy to grow, long blooming, and deer resistant too.

Avens 'Cooky'    (Geum 'Cooky')

'Cooky' Avens grows 12"-20" high and produces lots of 2" bright orange flowers late May through July. Geranium-like foliage of medium green. Easy to grow in well-drained soil.
